CLOVELLY HARBOUR FISHING BOATS DEVON
A peaceful scene in Clovelly harbour. Moored fishing boats shelter behind the protective quay breakwater wall basking in the late afternoon winter sun in the golden hour. The treacherous coast faces the might of the Atlantic Ocean as it meets the Bristol Channel. The ancient fishing village is unique, being perched on the steep cliffs of the North Devon coast, SW England, UK. A cobbled main street (no cars allowed) winds its way down the steep cliffs flanked by a jumble of lovely old fishermen's cottages. A major tourist destination in this area. Sledges are still used to haul goods and belongings up and down the steep lanes.
