BLACK LEAF ON SAND
Minimalist shot of black beech leaf on pristine grey-brown sand on a beach. The smooth black veined surface of the decaying dead leaf contrasts with the purity and texture of the fine grains of gritty pale sand. The inorganic grains of sand will exist in a similar state for eons whilst the organic leaf will break down quickly and will be swept away on the next tide. A fleeting artwork by Mother Nature. Alternative titles Beech on Beach, Grains on Veins or Life's a Beech. Taken along the River Camel estuary near Padstow, North Cornwall, SW England, UK.
