VIEW FROM ROUGH TOR BODMIN MOOR CORNWALL

Distant views and wonderful clouds looking north from Rough Tor (also Roughtor) towards Little Rough Tor and Showery Tor on the remote upland wilderness of Bodmin Moor, Cornwall, SW England UK. Rough is pronounced 'row' to rhyme with 'cow' locally. The tor summit is 1313 ft (400m) above mean sea level, making it the second highest point in Cornwall, part of St Breward parish near Camelford, SW England UK. As can be seen with the developing clouds the high moorland area influences local weather conditions. There is considerable evidence of human habitation with a neolithic enclosure around the summit, Bronze Age hut circles, stone circles and field systems nearby. Rough Tor was mentioned in Daphne Du Maurier's famous novel Jamaica Inn. Taken on a beautiful winter's day in February.
